Project Tallmadge: Project Tallmadge is described as an 87-acre campus in town and press reports, but Takanock's own website now lists 105 acres and 270 MW, and the site plan under review covers 77.7 acres. The public deserves a clear answer on how big this project actually is. This 2-million-square-foot data center campus near I-81 Exit 296 has a reported price tag of $4.5 billion. Takanock says it will not build or operate the data center and plans to sell the site to an operator, which has not been named. The town says the project is vested under its 2014 zoning rules, so it is being reviewed with no Town Council vote and no special-use permit, even though Strasburg now requires both for new data centers. Town staff has completed a first site-plan review and has finished reviewing a second submission. Takanock's own materials list construction beginning in Q1 of 2027.
 

The Oranda Rd Property: Providence Digital Capital has proposed a 96-megawatt data center campus on about 103 acres at 1095 Oranda Road, just outside Strasburg. The plan calls for three buildings of roughly 150,000 square feet each, powered by on-site natural gas engines instead of the grid. As of late September, Providence had not applied for the special use permit Shenandoah County now requires, which means a public hearing and a Board of Supervisors vote.
 

Dunmore Industrial Park: The Bernstein Companies have filed a special-use permit application with the Town of Strasburg for Dunmore Industrial Park, roughly 101 acres on Borden Mowry Industrial Drive. The first use would be a data center campus served by a new utility substation. The Town Council rezoned the land from residential to Business Park/Light Industrial in 2024.
